First, an apology for the long delay in updating- I was out of town on Saturday, recuperating from that on Sunday, and Monday and Tuesday were just bad days. Now on to the News!
The Academy of Country Music has named George Strait as Artist of the Decade for the 00s in a TV special that was recorded in Las Vegas last month. Strait follows Garth Brooks (who presented the award to Strait at the show), Artist of the 90s; Alabama, "Artist" of the 80s; and Loretta Lynn, Artist of the 70s. Without a doubt, George, who has had over 50 #1 hit songs, is in great company, and definitely deserves the recognition. He should also get a special award for "best new pick-up line idea" for his song "the Chair".
